[Band of Brothers]

Broken Glass by Katherine
[Nixon/Winters; PG]
A nice, bittersweet post-war story. I especially liked the characterisation and eye for detail.

No End to This Unraveling by Epigone
[Buck/Luz; PG]
I love it when an author makes me believe in a pairing I'd never thought of before. A quiet story about change and moments when words simply fail.

Traiteur by untitled06
[Roe/Heffron, Renee; PG; 2700 words]
This is exactly the story I wanted to write after seeing "Bastogne": about how to make sense of something that doesn't make sense and how to deal with the pain of it.

[Gladiator]

Galatea by Drowned Girl Fuschia
[Commodus/Lucilla; R] warning: incest
This story could very well have happened so perfectly it fits the characters. Poetic and chilling.

One Of A Thousand Roads by Shalott
[Maximus/Commodus; AU; PG-13 2300 words]
This story is an AU but somehow it doesn't seem like it. It's akin to a dream when you don't remember falling asleep.

Sometimes the Heart by Seema
[Lucilla/Maximus; NC-17]
I'd have prefered a different POV, but the great characterisation makes for a very nice story. Seema nailed the characters' voices perfectly.

[Pirates of the Caribbean]

A Sea Change by Ladybee
[Jack, gen; PG]
Interesting, not to say wacky, idea and amazing execution. The author has a wonderful way with words: poetic and light.

Bull in a China Shop by Gileonnen
[Pintel/Ragetti; PG-13]
There are no words beside hysteric laughter. Absolutely brilliant.

Depth by Sleeps With Coyotes
[Will/Jack; G]
It's about longing and discovering his own nature. And it's just plain good writing.

First Warning by Rave
[Will/Jack; PG-13]
This story has managed what the film couldn't, make me seek out Pirates fic. Will's nervous and a bit uptight, and Jack's annoying the crap out of the poor boy. The banter between the two is absolutely delightful.

Hurricane Jack by Shrift
[Will/Jack; NC-17]
Both Will and Jack are spot-on; revealing little bits of them not seen in the film that make them richer characters. And it's hot, too.

Men Of Our Word by L.M. Griffin
[Jack/Norrington; PG-13]
Norrington's voice is terribly amusing. It's worth a try just for that alone.

[Miscellaneous]

An Evening with Narcissus by Grayswandir [Picture of Dorian Gray]
[Dorian/Basil; PG-13; 2600 words]
The character dynamic is nicely done. And dear Dorian is delightfully cruel.

Beasts by Belinda [Ned Kelly]
[Ned/Joe; NC-17; 2000 words]
You know, I haven't even seen the film yet. But the sheer bloke-ishness of this fic makes me want to squeal in delight which, I'm aware, is a really inappropriate reaction.

Dolphin's Cry by Aelora [RPF]
[Orlando/OFC; NC-17; 94.000 words]
It has its sappy and cliched moments, but. This story's been haunting me for a while because Orlando's voice convinced me so totally. An OFC story I actually adore.

Dr. Cameron goes to Washington by Natasha [RPF]
[George W. Bush/Paul Cameron; PG-13]
*snerk* Political satire or pure crack, you decide. "This is a purely scientific demonstration, sir," Cameron unbuckled the belt with one hand and unzipped with the other. "Just so you can understand the great danger this country is in."

Heat by Gabby Hope [Black Hawk Down RPS]
[Ron Eldard/Orlando Bloom; NC-17; 8900 words]
It's all about the atmosphere Gabby creates here. The moist heat of Marocco and the heat of desire. Guh.

In Principio by Thamiris [Bible]
[God/Lucifer; NC-17]
Stunned silence. Wow, I have no words.

Leda, Mary and the Rest by Stella [Joan of Arcadia]
[Grace/God; PG-13]
This is interesting, I couldn't figure out what's exactly going on until the last moment. I liked the glimpses into Grace personality.

Retelling :: the Aftertruths to Happily Ever After by untitled06 [Fairy Tales]
Untitled06 celebrates the power of a few well-chosen words. Truely amazing.

Texas Forever by Topaz [Friday Night Lights]
[Tim, gen; 4500 words]
Future fic. Not my future, but very, very believable nevertheless. Must read.

Theories of Momentary Perfection by Serialkarma [the O.C]
[Seth/Ryan; PG-13]
The contrast of character/speaking pattern/body language is really well done here. I love how there's so much more to Ryan. A relaxed, perfect little story.

Void by Wax Jism [Faculty]
[Zeke/Delilah/Casey; NC-17]
First there was this story then people decided to make a movie around it. It's dark, cutting, harsh; bloody brilliant writing. I heard wax's working on it again.
